Nacpan Beach is the perfect place in El Nido if you want to enjoy swimming with solitude and relax with tranquility. Because on top of having a grand size, it is less crowded as well. If you’re not in the mood for loud beach parties and would simply prefer to quietly reflect and meditate while immersing yourself in a serene nature’s wonder—this beach would be an ideal spot for you.
Sitting on the outskirts of El Nido, this isolated beach lets you enjoy your time with nature more intimately. Walking barefoot on the tender sands of Nacpan Beach will give you that refreshing feeling of being one with nature. Its long and wide stretch of beach will overwhelm your eyes and fill your heart with delight. A view of its vast sea that’s filled with lush green islets has a wonderful blend of colors that is pleasant to the eyes.
Getting to Nacpan Beach
What’s great about using public transportation during our trips is that the drivers are proactive in bringing up other tourist destinations that you might want to consider. The tricycle driver recommended that we try to visit Nacpan Beach and then offered us a ride to get there for P1,000.00. He said that the travel time can take up to 45 minutes but it’s all worth it because the beach is really beautiful.
My masterful bargaining expert wife immediately negotiated to drop down the price to P600.00. After a few talks and convincing, the driver agreed for the price of P800.00 for the two of us. If bargaining skills have ranks, she would be a supreme high-priestess. The road to get there is concrete in most parts but you need to pass a fairly long rough road to get to the beach.
Our Experience at Nacpan Beach
When we first arrived at the beach, we were surprised at how wide its stretch is. But the bigger surprise is that there was almost no one around. Someone even joked at social media that we rented the entire beach exclusively for just the two of us because our posted pictures show the wide beach with no one else in sight. It was really nice to see how there were almost no footprints on the sands like it was just newly ironed. Nacpan Beach is literally off the beaten path.
We took the pleasure of removing our sandals and walking barefoot on its long stretch of beach. Its fine sand is definitely not white but it’s free from rubbles and soft to the feet. The downward angle of sand is very gradual so its shallow water is definitely kid-friendly. Its clean water looks very tempting to swim at and the sound of its gentle waves is really relaxing. The waves are surprisingly small despite the fact that this beach is facing the open West Philippine Sea.
Nearby Islands
Perhaps somehow, the two pairs of nearby islands called the Bolog Islands and Bury Islands are breaking the large waves coming in that’s why they’re gentler when they reach the Nacpan Beach. We saw a big nipa house along with some small houses in one of the Bolog Islands. They’re facing the Nacpan Beach to perhaps avoid a potential large wave on the opposite side of the island.
The big nipa house looked like a rest house and could be an exclusive extension of one of the resorts because there were two kayaks there as well. Staying there for a short vacation, swimming and kayaking must be really fun. There’s even a small cottage being built on top of the small island where you can rest and enjoy a wonderful view sea and the beach. Getting an overnight stay here (if it will be available commercially in the future) will increase your already isolated feeling in this beach to another level.
Tall Hill of Nacpan Beach
Make sure not to miss climbing up the tall hill at the edge of Nacpan Beach. A breathtaking view of the entire stretch of the beach can be seen up there. It’s great that a stairway was made to make it easy for everyone to climb up the hill. We found it a bit risky and tedious to climb up the part to reach its peak because it’s too steep and doesn’t have any stairs made yet. I can’t imagine any of one of us rolling down the hill for the sake of getting a better photo.
Upon reaching the top of the stairs, Juliet and I can’t help but talk about how beautiful the view is from up there. A wonderful view of the other beach can also be seen. I found out later that the other beach is called the Twin Beach for an obvious reason. We were lucky to catch up on one of the tourists to help us get a picture together. After getting a good 360 degree look around from our spot, you can really say that Nacpan Beach is a blissful place that you won’t regret visiting.
